Teaching Philosophy
My primary goal is to help students become self-sufficient learners, and nurture their love and appreciation for music that will last a lifetime.
My approach to teaching is shaped by my life long studies with world-renowned pedagogues, my international performance career, and two decades of teaching students of all levels. My curriculum is tailored to each individual student, and responsive to their abilities and stage of development.
I emphasize and develop the following concepts in all of my students: beautiful tone production, excellent rhythmic skills, a fluid technique, fundamental understanding of harmony and structure, fluency in sight-reading, and the ability to interpret music expressively.
Students learn best through clear and steadfast guidance that demands excellence. I believe that students experience the ultimate reward, when they themselves witness their own progress and growth.
It is my privilege and joy to guide my students on their path to becoming more well-rounded, independent, and expressive human beings.
